In Arlington, Texas, Mark Teixeira and Todd Greene had two homers each as Texas tied a team record by hitting seven.
Michael Young, Alex Rodriguez and Rafael Palmeiro also connected for the Rangers, who had seven homers for the third time in club history. Teixeira had three hits and four RBIs.
John Thomson (9-10) gave up three runs and in eight innings while winning for the fifth time in six decisions. Billy Traber (5-6), who allowed three homers and six runs in two innings.
Twins 10, Tigers 4
In Minneapolis, Detroit center fielder Alex Sanchez made a bizarre attempt to stop Michael Restovich's two-run triple as Minnesota beat the Tigers for the 16th straight time.
Leading 5-1, the Twins broke open the game with three runs in the third, highlighted by Sanchez's strange play. Restovich hit a low liner to left-center, and Sanchez -- a left-hander -- took his glove off his right hand while chasing the bouncing ball, which got by him.
Kyle Lohse (7-9) won for the first time in over seven weeks, and James Baldwin got his first career save.
Devil Rays 9, Royals 6
In Kansas City, Travis Lee homered and drove in four runs as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays won its fourth in a row.
The Royals lost their fourth straight game, matching the worst skid of the season for the AL Central leaders. Raul Ibanez homered and drove in five runs for Kansas City.
Lee had three hits, including a three-run homer in the first inning. He delivered a go-ahead single as the Devil Rays scored four times in the seventh.

Angels 5, Blue Jays 0
In Anaheim, California, Roy Halladay's 15-game winning streak ended when Anaheim beat Toronto on a combined four-hitter by Ramon Ortiz and Ben Weber.
Ortiz (13-8) won for the ninth time in 12 decisions, allowing three hits and stranding seven runners in scoring position over seven innings.
Anaheim's Scott Spiezio, who snapped an 0-for-22 drought with a single his last time up, had a pair of run-scoring groundouts to help send Toronto to its 21st loss in 29 games.
White Sox 12, Mariners 1
In Seattle, Carl Everett, Paul Konerko and Carlos Lee homered to back Bartolo Colon's pitching, and Chicago won for the fifth straight time.
Everett had five RBIs as the White Sox pulled within one percentage point of Kansas City for the AL Central lead. Chicago has won 13 of 14 since trailing the Royals by eight games on July 17.
Colon (9-9) won his third start in a row. Freddy Garcia (9-11) lost his fifth consecutive decision.
Everett, acquired in a trade with Texas July 1, hit a three-run homer in the first inning.
Athletics 3, Yankees 2
In Oakland, California, Miguel Tejada recaptured a bit of the magic that made him last season's AL MVP, hitting a two-out homer in the 10th inning.
The Yankees appeared headed for their fourth straight road win until Alfonso Soriano booted Tejada's routine two-out grounder in the eighth, allowing Mark Ellis to score the tying run from second base. With two outs in the 10th, Tejada drove a 1-2 pitch from Antonio Osuna (2-3) into the left-field stands to make a winner of Keith Foulke (8-1).
National League
Barry Larkin homered for the first time since April, and Juan Castro hit a tiebreaking shot in the eighth inning Friday night, rallying the Cincinnati Reds to a 5-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants.
Castro's two-out, two-run homer off Felix Rodriguez (6-1) gave the Reds their 26th victory in their final at-bat, the most in the majors.
Chris Reitsma (9-3) gave up an RBI single in the eighth to Benito Santiago that tied it at 3. The Reds blew an early 3-0 lead before sending the NL West leaders to only their fourth loss in 15 games since the All-Star break.
Expos 8, Brewers 4
In Montreal, Jamey Carroll homered off an Olympic Stadium speaker and Brad Wilkerson homered and drove in three runs for Montreal.
The Expos' Tomo Ohka (8-10) allowed eight hits and one run in seven innings.
Wilkerson hit an RBI double off Wayne Franklin (7-8) in the second and got his 13th homer -- a two-run shot -- in the fifth. Carroll's first homer struck a speaker 120 feet above the field.
Astros 2, Marlins 1
In Miami, Jeff Kent's home run and Josh Beckett's balk were enough for Houston to defeat Florida.
Tim Redding (8-9) gave up one run on six hits in seven innings. Billy Wagner worked the ninth for his 32nd save
Beckett (5-5) took the loss -- only the second in 10 games for Florida. Kent homered in the second, and Beckett balked home Bagwell -- who had tripled -- in the fourth.
Pirates 12, Rockies 11
In Pittsburgh, Jason Kendall's RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning capped a six-run rally for Pittsburgh.
Tike Redman hit a two-out, two-run triple off Adam Bernero (0-1) to tie it. Redman, called up earlier in the day from Triple-A, fouled off four two-strike pitches before his hit made a winner of Duaner Sanchez (1-0).
Redman had two triples, two RBIs, two runs and two walks.
Brian Giles homered for the Pirates. Todd Helton and Charles Johnson had a two-run shots for Colorado, which blew leads of 7-2 and 11-6.
Phillies 6, Padres 0
In Philadelphia, Kevin Millwood did not allow a baserunner until the sixth inning, and finished with a three-hitter.
Jim Thome drove in two runs and Marlon Byrd had four hits as the NL wild card-leading Phillies got their fourth straight win.
Millwood (11-7) retired his first 16 batters he faced.
Kevin Jarvis (4-3) gave up five runs and eight hits in 6 1-3 innings to lose for the first time in five starts.

In Chicago, Aramis Ramirez hit an RBI single to end a game that included a three-hour rain delay.
Ramirez scored on pinch-hitter Troy O'Leary's tying, two-out, two-run double in the 11th. In the 14th, Ramirez singled in Sammy Sosa, extending Arizona's record road losing streak to 10.
Sosa and Moises Alou singled with one out in the 14th off Eddie Oropesa (2-2) and Eric Karros walked. Ramirez lifted a fly ball to right field that went over the drawn-in outfield to win it for Antonio Alfonseca (1-1).
Braves 2, Dodgers 0
In Atlanta, Greg Maddux reached 10 wins for the 16th straight season, and Andruw Jones homered before leaving with an injury.
The Dodgers lost their fourth straight, and they've scored only 11 runs in their past nine games.
Maddux (10-8) returned after a rain delay of 1 hour, 26 minutes in the third inning. He gave up two hits in five innings, throwing only 67 pitches in his 283rd career win.
Jones hit a solo shot off Hideo Nomo (12-9) in the second before leaving with a strained muscle in his right side. Nomo did not return after the delay.
Cardinals 8, Mets 2
In New York, Miguel Cairo and reliever Steve Kline had two-run doubles in a six-run eighth inning for St. Louis. Edgar Renteria went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double for the Cardinals.
Cliff Floyd homered for the struggling Mets, who have lost six of seven and 18 of 23.
