Osgood helped the Islanders kill off 10 penalties in recording his 35th career shutout. Mark Parrish, Alexei Yashin and Michael Peca scored for New York, which has won two straight.
Defenseman Roman Hamrlik, playing his first game since Dec. 10 after missing six games with a separated left shoulder, assisted on each goal.
Former Islanders goalie Kevin Weekes stopped 26 shots for the Hurricanes, who have dropped two in a row.
