Simon Gagne's third period goal lifted the Philadelphia Flyers to a 2-2 tie with the Ottawa Senators in a showdown between two of the Eastern Conference's top clubs in NHL action on Tuesday.
The Flyers salvaged a point from the home-and-home series after losing 3-1 on Saturday to stay tied for first place in the Atlantic Division with New Jersey.
Ottawa slipped into a first place tie with Boston in the Northeast Division with the single point.

Michal Handzus scored the other goal for the Flyers, while Robert Esche made 26 saves in goal for Philadelphia.
Todd White and Shaun Van Allen scored the Ottawa goals as the Senators ran their unbeaten streak to four games.
Patrick Lalime made 28 saves for the Senators, who were out-shot 30-28, including 13-5 in the second period.
Gagne's high wrist shot beat Lalime cleanly at 5:16 of the third period to keep the Flyers unbeaten in their past four road games.

In Boston, John Grahame made 25 saves as the Bruins snapped a six-game winless streak with a 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.
Mike Knuble, Bryan Berard, Ivan Huml, Joe Thornton and P.J. Axelsson scored the goals for the Bruins, who moved back into a tie for first place in the Northeast Division with Ottawa.
Teemu Selanne and Jim Fahey scored the goals for San Jose.
Red Wings 1 Blue Jackets 0
In Columbus, Curtis Joseph made 33 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Detroit Red Wings blanked the Blue Jackets 1-0.
Joseph earned his 39th career shutout as the Red Wings stretched their unbeaten streak to five games.
Islanders 3 Canadiens 1
In Uniondale, Chris Osgood had to make just 13 saves as the New York Islanders scored three goals in the third period en route to a 3-1 win over the Montreal Caandiens.
Mark Parrish, Dave Scatchard and Claude Lapointe into an empty net scored for the Islanders on Jose Theodore, who made 33 saves.
Mike Ribiero scored the lone goal for Montreal, which saw its two-game winning streak snapped.
Rangers 2 Devils 2
In New York, Mike Dunham made 40 saves and the Rangers got goals from unlikely sources to tie the New Jersey Devils 2-2.
Richard Linter and Joe Bouchard scored for the Rangers.
The two defenseman had went a combined three years without scoring a goal but they helped the Rangers break a two-game losing streak.
Patrik Elias and Scott Gomez scored for the Devils, now unbeaten in three games.
Penguins 5 Sabres 2 In Pittsburgh, Mario Lemieux scored a goal and added three assists to lead the Penguins to a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Alexei Kovalev scored twice for the Penguins, who scored four unanswered goals in the third period to win their second straight game.
Milan Kraft and Martin Straka scored the other goals for Pittsburgh. Jean-Pierre Dumont and Ales Kotalik scored the goals for the Sabres, who are winless in seven games.
Capitals 3 Lightning 0
In Washington, Olaf Kolzig made 40 saves to lead the Capitals to a 3-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Kolzig's 28th career shutout helped the Captials win their third straight game while the Lightning remained winless in four (0-2-2).
Steve Konowalchuk, Robert Lang and Peter Bondra into an empty net scored for Washington, which climbed to within three points of first place Tampa Bay and Carolina in the Southeast Division.

In Toronto, Alexander Mogilny scored a hat trick to lead the Maple Leafs to a 5-1 win over the Atlanta Thrashers.
Mogilny's 15th career hat trick and second of the season allowed the Leafs to extend their home-ice unbeaten streak to 10 games.
Mogilny also assisted on Aki Berg's goal while Jonas Hoglund also scored for Toronto.
