During a rally in southern Taiwan on Monday, Tzeng recited several Western poems in a monotone voice, blew a kiss to the spectators on occasion and sometimes hung her head, staring at the note held tightly in her hand.

Standing next to Lee, Tzeng, full of smiles, was not as dominant a presence as Lee but looked friendly and approachable.
To dispel rumors that she did not support the Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU), Tzeng decided to speak with TSU supporters despite her stage fright.
