A 66-year-old seal hunter whose boat capsized has been rescued safe and sound after spending two days drifting on a chunk of ice in frigid North Atlantic waters, Canadian officials said last week.
Rex Saunders had gone to sea early last Monday to hunt seals off the northernmost tip of Newfoundland, off Canada’s east coast.
Around 3:30pm (1800 GMT), as Saunders was returning to port, his six-meter-long open boat hit an ice patch and quickly capsized.

“I was trapped underneath. I had to dive down to get up from under,” Saunders, who was wearing a lifevest, told CTV.
The sealer swam to another ice patch, where he sat on a gas drum in chilly temperatures until coast guards rescued him early Wednesday.
“We were very lucky to find him. It’s very hard to spot one person or a small boat like that in the ice,” said Canadian Coast Guard Captain Terry Frost.

“The thing that really saved him, I suppose, is his life suit. If he didn’t have that, we might not have seen him. We might have passed by him, without that orange suit showing up against the white ice.”
Saunders was taken to a hospital for hypothermia, but was deemed to be right as rain.

The US-Israeli war on Iran, launched on Feb. 28, has set the Middle East alight, threatening millions of people’s lives and livelihoods as the violence spreads in widening arc stretching from central Asia to the edge of Europe. The joint operation, named “Epic Fury” by the US and “Roaring Lion” by Israel, has been sold as a high-impact show of intimidating power, but its impact so far beyond the chaos and bloodshed is unclear. What is certain is that predictions that this type of war would destabilize the region have indeed rapidly materialized. What is the background to this war? For decades, the
When purchasing sunglasses, many people prioritize fashion or comfort. However, experts warn that eye safety should be the foremost concern. Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can lead to serious eye problems, including cataracts, macular degeneration, and even a painful condition called photokeratitis, or “sunburn of the eye.” Because of these risks, selecting sunglasses with proper UV protection is essential. One common misconception is that darker lenses automatically block more UV rays. In fact, lens color and darkness have little to do with UV protection. A pair of stylish, dark sunglasses without the appropriate coating can be dangerous because

I still feel hungry. 註:可以說 no good food, no suitable clothes,因為這裏 no 修飾 food, clothes(= no food that is good, no clothes that are suitable)。本句應該用 not enough food,因這裏 not 修飾形容詞 enough。 There is no much time left. There is not much time left.。 2. ˇ You cannot expect me to do so many things in only one hour. χ You cannot expect me to do such many things in only one hour. 例如:such a book, such things。 例如:so many things, so much food,
