A Swedish university is going to measure the greenhouse gases cows give off when they belch.
About 20 cows will participate in the study. The Swedish University for Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala is in charge of the project.

Cattle release methane when they digest their food. Methane is a greenhouse gas believed to contribute to global warming. Scientists believe the level of methane released depends on the type of food the cows eat.
Project leader Jan Bertilsson said that the cows involved in the study will have different diets. They'll wear a special device to measure the methane level in the air around them. Bertilsson said 95 percent of the methane released by cows comes out through the mouth.
"This type of research is already being conducted in Canada," he said. "So we will be in contact with Canadian agricultural researchers in the near future."(STAFF WRITER, WITH AP)

Whale sharks are the largest species of fish in the world. They aren’t related to whales, but take their name due to their enormous size. At full maturity, whale sharks measure around nine or 10 meters long and can weigh from 15,000 to 40,000 kilograms. Whale sharks live in warm waters, with about 75% of them found in the Indo-Pacific region. They can migrate thousands of kilometers to different feeding grounds, but at a slow speed of 5 km/h on average. Whale sharks have a broad, flat head and are typically brown or gray in color. Their distinguishing characteristic
