Officials say that approximately 90 victims and witnesses are likely to testify against the defendants.
They said the evidence also includes tapes and after-action reports, but few actual orders because of the former regime ordered them to be destroyed.
Majid is the most high-profile defendant among the 15, most of whom are military men.
Sultan Hashim al-Tai, a former defense minister, and Hussein Rashid al-Tikriti, former armed forces deputy chief of operations, have also been sentenced to death in the genocide trial.
