A Singaporean soldier died yesterday from injuries sustained when a fighter jet crashed into his training camp in Taiwan earlier this month, the Singaporean Defense Ministry said.
The May 11 crash of a F-5F Tiger fighter jet in Hsinchu County killed two Taiwanese air force officers and two Singaporean soldiers.
Lance Corporal Chow Han Min Calvin, 19, was one of two Singaporean soldiers who were severely burned after the jet crashed into a storage house at a Singaporean camp during a training flight, the ministry said in a statement.
Chow died early yesterday in a Singapore hospital "after his condition took a turn for the worse," the statement said.
The other injured soldier was in critical but stable condition, the statement said.
The plane went down after completing a simulated ground attack at the Hukou Air Base in Hsinchu.
Officials have said it failed to gain the needed speed to pull up and crashed into the camp.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
