Before relocating to Belgium next year, jazz musician Martijn Vanbuel will hold one more concert with his group Orbit Folks (世界軌跡), bringing a new, challenging crossover feast of sounds from Africa, India, Indonesia, Hakka, folk, jazz, post-rock and more. Orbit Folks’ musical collaborators Nana Formosa, a virtuoso percussion duo, will also play at the concert.

Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. Tonight’s performer is singer-songwriter Huang Shan-liang (荒山亮) with rock ‘n’ roll and blues. He plays with the Fung band (丰樂團). The spotlight is on Japanese punk group NAMBA69 tomorrow, with Japan’s melodic punk act GOD4NOTHING and young rockers My First Story also playing. Golden Melody award-winning Puyuma musician Sangpuy (桑布伊) takes the stage on Wednesday.

Post-rock band EF from Sweden arrives tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists, with Swedish indie pop act Halo of Pendor, Taiwan’s Until Seeing Whale’s Eyes (直到看見鯨魚的眼睛) and 2HRS as the opening acts. It is the release party of electronic post-rock act Formosa Romance’s debut album tomorrow, joined by garage/punk rockers The White Eyes (白目), Forests (森林合唱樂團) and TuT. Sunday promises to be a jazz night featuring Blueberry Jazz Pie (藍莓派爵士樂團) and Festival Jazz Ensemble (小節慶爵士樂團). Wednesday’s roster is formed by electronic/post punk group Miss Banana (香蕉小姐), punk band Destroyers (擊沈女孩) and emo-rock/post-hardcore outfit The Girl’s Mood (少女情懷). Chinese rocker P.K.14 hits the stage on Thursday. Also on the bill are Taiwan’s post-punk rockers Macbeth (馬克白) and psychedelic rock band The Gigantic Roar (巨大的轟鳴).

Japanese punks PUNiK hit the stage tonight at Indie rock club Revolver. Also on the bill are garage rock favorites 88 Balaz (88顆芭樂籽), powerviolence/crust band Stench of Lust and Mr. Dirty. Tomorrow’s show features ambient/chill-out band 90Hz and post-rock trio The Capelin (柳葉魚). Electronic duo Orientone (大聲東) mixes Oriental music traditions with electronic sounds on Wednesday, with electronic duo Dronetonics and Beneath the Leaves also playing. It is indie rockers Freeman (自由人), The Disabled Outlaws and post-rock/scream group LSD Love Sex Delicious on Thursday.
