"Years ago on this street, you could get dog meat with rice for cheap. Now Taiwan is rich. No one wants to eat dog meat anymore. Now people want them as pets," he said. "It's a way to show that Taiwan isn't the poor place it was not so long ago. And the dogs are adorable. Maybe we feel guilty!"
