Letters: CBC should be reined in

Regarding Clive Ansley's letter (Letters, Nov. 11, page 8), I was also angered when I heard about the last-minute cancelation of the airing of the CBC documentary Behind the Red Wall. At the moment there is a lot of negative publicity in Canada regarding this controversial move, but in order to protect our freedom of information from the gang of thugs that is the Chinese government, we must act now while there is momentum.

I encourage all concerned people, Canadian and non-Canadian, to contact the office of the CBC Ombudsman (www.cbc.ca/ombudsman), an impartial oversight post designed to ensure the integrity of the CBC, which is a public corporation and property of the Canadian people, not the Chinese Communist Party. Act now before this travesty is buried under yet more bureaucratic lies and ambiguity.
