FarEasTone Telecommunications Co (遠傳電信) announced yesterday that it has appointed Jan Nilsson as its new president, effective Sept. 1.
"We are delighted to have Jan on board. With his over 20 years of professional experience in wireless industry and international business operations, Jan will certainly lead FarEasTone to achieve its vigorous corporate goals in the new 3G era," said Chairman Douglas Hsu (徐旭東).
Prior to joining Far EasTone, Nilsson had managed several multinational telecommunication companies in the Asia Pacific region since 1994, the company said in a statement.
Former president Joseph O'Konek ended his contact with the company at the end of June and currently serves as the western region head of AT&T wireless unit in Seattle.
