This year’s Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart will be the biggest ever, with 700 companies from 26 countries participating, the organizers said yesterday.
The show, to be held from Sept. 20 to Sept. 23, will highlight the theme of intelligent life, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA, 外貿協會) said.
Visitors to the eighth annual exhibition will be treated to a display of about 2,000 inventions at a record 1,079 booths, featuring information and communications technology (ICT), biotechnology, cloud technology, textiles, machinery and environmental protection, TAITRA said.
An Android phone that can be used as a remote control developed by the government-funded Industrial Technology Research Institute (工業技術研究院) and winter clothes made from electrically conductive fiber by the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (紡織產業綜合研究所) are some of the new technologies on display, TAITRA said.
A new consultancy service to encourage inventors to develop world-class technology will also be offered by a group of government experts as part of a policy to help promote commercialization of patents.
Stimulating internationalization and commercialization of intellectual property and innovative technology is one of the main goals of the show, according to the organizers.
The exhibition also aims to provide a platform for international intellectual property trade and technology transfer, they added.
