Taipei is set to welcome a horde of expertise in the automobile industry on Monday with two large-scale expositions that will run concurrently.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (外貿協會, TAITRA) has organized this year's Taipei International Auto Parts and Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA) and Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei).
The AMPA show is Asia's largest and one of the world's leading auto parts shows, while the AutoTronics was the first such event in Asia to combine both automobiles and electronics under the same roof, TAITRA said.
Running through April 5, the twin shows will occupy all three of the exhibition halls at the Taipei World Trade Center, as well as floor space at the Taipei International Convention Center.
Besides product exhibits, the shows will include activities such as industry seminars, procurement seminars, one-on-one trade talks and new product launches.
The AMPA show last year attracted 934 exhibitors who filled 2,243 booths, compared with 892 exhibitors and 2,149 booths in 2005, according to TAITRA statistics.
AutoTronics, which ran for the first time last year, drew over 140 exhibitors in 315 booths displaying electronic parts and systems. The show attracted 1,372 foreign buyers, who came mainly from the US, Japan, China and Russia.
