■ Down go gasoline and diesel
State-run Chinese Petroleum Corp (CPC, 中油) announced yesterday that it would lower wholesale gasoline price by NT$0.4 per liter and wholesale diesel prices by NT$0.3 per liter. The new rates went into effect from midnight last night.
The adjusted retail prices for 98-octane unleaded gasoline were NT$28.7; for 95-octane unleaded gasoline: NT$27.2; for 92-octane unleaded gasoline: NT$26.5; and top-grade diesel oil: NT$23.4 per liter, the CPC said in a statement.
The price of fuel oil is unchanged at NT$137 per kiloliter.
■ OTC shares at new high
The daily value of Taiwan's over-the-counter (OTC) shares stood at NT$20.68 billion (US$638.3 million) last year, with total annual turnover amounting to NT$5.13 trillion, according to tallies released by the GRETAI Securities Market.
Both figures marked a record high, officials said, noting that the daily value was 61.3 percent higher than the NT$12.82 billion mark in 2005, while total turnover was up 62 percent from NT$3.17 trillion.
■ Emerging Stock Market online
Webs-tv.net (網絡數碼), the nation's largest online multimedia service provider, announced yesterday that it would provide real-time stock quotes of companies listed on the Emerging Stock Market (興櫃市場) on its Yam portal.
Yam is one of the nation's Internet portals and was acquired by Webs-tv.net in September last year.
Webs-tv.net said investors can check prices of 226 stocks at stock.yam.com for the latest data.
Outside the over-the-counter GRETAI Securities Market (櫃檯買賣中心), Yam is the first platform to provide such a service, it said.
