Evergreen head scraps planned visit to China

Evergreen Group (長榮集團) chairman Chang Jung-fa (張榮發) has scrapped a plan to visit China this week, a spokesman confirmed yesterday.

The spokesman said Chang had canceled the trip because he had to attend to some business in Taiwan.

Chang had planned to meet officials from Beijing's Taiwan Affairs Office, the Ministry of Communications and the Civil Aviation Administration, as well as Chinese President Hu Jintao (胡錦濤).
