Local telecom operators like Chunghwa Telecom Co (中華電信) and Taiwan Cellular Corp (台灣大哥大) are expected to give an average 4-month salary as a year-end bonus, almost unchanged from last year.
Chunghwa Telecom Co (中華電信) said it is "planning to give four-month's salary as a bonus to employees, if the company hits the NT$42.84 billion earnings target this year," said Harrison Kuo (郭水義), a special assistant to chairman Hochen Tan (賀陳旦).
Officials at both FarEasTone Telecommunications Co (遠傳電信) and KG Telecommunications Co (和信電訊) said they may consider to offer two-to-four month's salary as bonuses. Yvonne Lan (藍綺萍), spokeswoman for FarEasTone, said the bonus plan will not be affected by the job cuts following the merger between the two.
