Taiwan’s leadership strengthens the world, and the world deserves access to solutions proposed by Taiwan, he said.
Lai thanked Drew for his remarks at the UN General Assembly this year, including urging the international community to support Taiwan’s engagement and underscoring the importance of stability across the Taiwan Strait.
Noting that this is Drew’s third visit to Taiwan since taking office in 2022, he congratulated the prime minister on being awarded a Most Influential People of African Descent Lifetime Achievement Award this year.
Yesterday’s meeting came one day after the arrival of the Saint Kitts and Nevis delegation led by Drew, which includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Denzil Douglas, Ambassador-at-large Leon Natta-Nelson and Ambassador to Taiwan Donya L. Francis.
Also present at the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) and Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis Edward Tao (陶令文).
Drew during the visit is also overseeing the signing of sister-city partnership agreements between Taipei and Tainan, and Saint Kitts and Nevis’ capital, Basseterre.
The visit is to conclude on Monday.
