Donations totaling NT$470 million (US$15.65 million) for Typhoon Danas relief had been collected as of today, nearing the goal of NT$500 million two days before accounts close, the Taiwan Foundation for Disaster Relief said.

Line Pay donations are to end earlier at 11:59pm tomorrow night, it added.
The donations included 85 transfers of at least NT$1 million each, accounting for a total of NT$390 million, it said.
Typhoon Danas struck Chiayi County’s Budai Township (布袋) overnight on July 6, cutting water and electricity, destroying buildings and causing flooding across central and southern Taiwan.
In the following days, heavy rain further devastated homes, properties and livelihoods.
On July 21, the Ministry of Health and Welfare opened an account to solicit private donations for disaster relief efforts.
The funds would be used to support disaster relief, emergency medical aid, shelter and resettlement, and post-disaster recovery efforts, the foundation said.
Private and public sectors can apply to use the funds for the aforementioned purposes, with applications to be strictly reviewed and swiftly implemented, it said.
After the fundraiser ends on Wednesday, there is to be a public announcement of the donors as well as disclosure of the fund disbursements in accordance with transparency and accountability requirements, the foundation added.
Before 11:59pm tomorrow, donors on Line Pay can click on the "Donation" button, and select the "2025 Typhoon Danas Fundraising Program" (114年丹娜絲風災募款專案).

Taiwan Good Rice is to terminate all cooperative relationships with GlobalGiving in response to the platform’s “unilateral and non-negotiable” decision to remove references to Taiwan, the NGO said. “Taiwan is in the official name of Taiwan Good Rice Association and the
