The Ministry of Agriculture is organizing the Taiwan Agriculture Pavilion at the Taiwan Culinary Exhibition this year to promote local agricultural and fishery products, with coupons, hotel vouchers and agricultural products worth more than NT$500,000 (US$17,006) as lucky draw prizes.
The exhibition is to be held at the Taipei World Trade Center from Friday next week to Aug. 4.
Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation Acting Director-General Su Mao-shiang (蘇茂祥) yesterday told a news conference that the exhibition is an important international joint event developed by the Tourism Administration.

The ministry has been supporting the effort by setting up the pavilion every year since 2016, he said, adding that the agency is responsible for organizing the pavilion this year.
Aside from showcasing and marketing agricultural and fishery products in collaboration with the Agriculture and Food Agency, Fisheries Agency and Department of Animal Industry, the pavilion would also focus on the sales display of “Tienmama” (田媽媽) dishes and products, Su said.
“Tienmama” is a brand established by the ministry two decades ago to help female agricultural workers leverage their culinary skills and agricultural expertise to start a business under the brand name.
Twelve Tienmama restaurants have been invited to provide 12 freshly made dishes at the pavilion once per day during the exhibition, Su said, adding that participation is by reservation only and limited to 30 people per day.
Agri-food lectures and interactive games would also be highlights of the event, he said.
Renowned or professional figures in the culinary field, such as Michelin-recommended chef Liao Yung-hsun (廖永勛), executive chef of former Michelin restaurant Sinasera24 Nick Yang (楊柏偉) and YouTuber Peiren Mama (培仁媽媽), have been invited to share their culinary knowledge and experience.
Ten do-it-yourself workshops would be held to give participants hands-on experience in making culinary delights such as carved fruits, scallion oil pancakes, crystal rice dumplings, egg rolls and Hakka red turtle cakes.
About 3,000 prizes would be given out at the lucky draws with a value totaling more than NT$500,000, Su said.
Visitors can receive a NT$50 coupon — which must be used during the exhibition — for every NT$500 spent at the pavilion, he said.
“The more you spend, the more you get,” Su said, adding that each coupon would come with a lucky draw entry.
