As the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office has issued an international wanted notice for Huang, he would be transferred to prosecutors for investigation, it added.
Huang is the father of plastic surgeon Paul Huang (黃博健), who with his wife, the Internet celebrity Su Chen-tuan (蘇陳端) known as Lady Nai Nai (貴婦奈奈), are wanted in a fraud investigation.
Paul Huang and Su have been accused of defrauding clients and friends of about NT$1 billion (US$30.66 million), some of whom had invested in the upscale cosmetic surgery clinic Ab Initio Medicina and two other businesses operated by the couple.
In 2018, they suddenly declared bankruptcy for the clinic and shut down their other businesses after allegedly transferring NT$1 billion to foreign bank accounts, prosecutors said.
The couple departed for the US on Nov. 30, 2018, then later met up with Huang Li-hsiung and Paul Huang’s sister, clinic accountant Huang Chien-fang (黃千芳), in Canada, where Paul Huang already had permanent residency.
In 2019, the bureau issued wanted notices for Paul Huang, Huang Li-hsiung and Su after discovering they were residing in Toronto.
Taiwan applied with Canadian authorities to extradite the suspects, but has not been successful as the nations do not have an extradition treaty.

A Philippine official has denied allegations of mistreatment of crew members during Philippine authorities’ boarding of a Taiwanese fishing vessel on Monday. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is pushing for residents of Kinmen and Lienchiang counties to acquire Chinese ID cards in a bid to “blur national identities,” a source said. The efforts are part of China’s promotion of a “Kinmen-Xiamen twin-city living sphere, including a cross-strait integration pilot zone in China’s Fujian Province,” the source said. “The CCP is already treating residents of these outlying islands as Chinese citizens. It has also intensified its ‘united front’ efforts and infiltration of those islands,” the source said. “There is increasing evidence of espionage in Kinmen, particularly of Taiwanese military personnel being recruited by the
