The Asian Baseball Championship in December might be held at the Taipei Dome if the facility receives an operating license in time, the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) said on Friday.
If the dome successfully passes its last remaining fire safety test, it is to receive an operating license next month, CTBA secretary-general Lin Chung-cheng (林宗成) said, citing Taipei Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan (李四川).
If it does, the CTBA would use the dome as the main venue for the championship, to be held from Dec. 3 to 9, Lin said.

Eight Chinese naval vessels and 24 military aircraft were detected crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait between 6am yesterday and 6am today, the Ministry of National Defense said this morning. The New Taipei Metro's Sanyin Line and the eastern extension of the Taipei Metro's Tamsui-Xinyi Line (Red Line) are scheduled to begin operations in June, the National Development Council said today.
