Six people in Kaohsiung are to be indicted under suspicion of drug-related offenses after a raid on a property in the city where narcotics were being produced, the city’s police department said Thursday.
Police raided a townhouse unit on Sinle St in Kaohsiung’s Fengshan District (鳳山) on May 17 following a lengthy investigation, and seized 1,310 packages of mixed substances containing Nimetazepam, ketamine and other Class 3 narcotics, the Kaohsiung Police Department said, adding that the packages were designed to look like instant coffee products.

The narcotics had an estimated street value of NT$200,000. During the raid, police also found equipment used for processing narcotics, it said. Police said the entrance to the townhouse was hidden in a bid to delay forced entry.
Six people, including one lead suspect surnamed Chiang (蔣), are to be indicted in the case, which is to be handled by Kaohsiung District Prosecutors’ Office, it said.

The Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau audited six hotels in an effort to prevent price gouging ahead of Korean band BTS’ concert tour in the city scheduled for Nov. 19, 21 and 22 this year.
