The Taiwan Sport Forward Association is to host next month an international forum on sports and gender equality with the American Institute in Taipei (AIT).
The forum, titled “Taiwan-USA Collaboration on Building the Asia-Pacific Gender Equality in Sports Exchange Platform,” is to be held at National Taipei University on May 5 and May 6, the association told a news conference.
The forum would also be funded by the US Department of State’s Global Sports Mentoring Program, it added.

It would cover four topics: sports media and gender equality, sports diplomacy, gender equality in sports, and sports and education, the association said.
Several international experts are to attend the forum, including Sarah Hillyer, director of the Center of Sport, Peace and Society at the University of Tennessee; Etsuko Ogasawara, a professor at Juntendo University; Anthony Edgar, a former head of media operations for the International Olympic Committee; and Carmen Pozo Rios, the first female sports journalist in Bolivia.
The forum would also include a photography competition featuring pictures of women participating in sporting events, titled “Women in Sports International Photo Awards,” with Edgar chairing the jury panel.
The Grand Jury Award, the biggest prize, would be granted to a professional female photographer, with a cash prize of US$7,000.
Submissions will be exhibited at the forum, the association said.
