China Airlines (CAL), Taiwan’s largest international carrier, yesterday said it would launch a new route between Taiwan and its sixth European destination, the Czech Republic’s capital, Prague, on July 18.
CAL said would be offering two round-trip flights a week between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Prague.
Flight CI067 bound for Prague would take off at 11:20pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and land at 7:30am on Wednesdays and Sundays after 13 hours and 50 minutes.

Flight CI068 bound for Taoyuan airport would leave Prague at 11:05am on Wednesdays and Sundays, and arrive in Taoyuan at 5:35am on Thursdays and Mondays after about 12-and-a-half hours.
CAL currently serves five destinations in Europe — Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Vienna and Rome. After launching the Prague flights, it would to have almost 30 flights a week to Europe, the most of any carrier in Taiwan.
The airline would use an Airbus A350 on the route, with three service classes: 32 seats in business class, 31 seats in premium economy class and 243 seats in economy class.
In celebration of the maiden flight to Prague on July 18, CAL said it would offer round-trip economy-class fares on the new route as low as NT$27,160 (US$887) before taxes, and provide bonus reward miles for customers who are members of its frequent flyer programs.
The carrier did not say how long the special offers would last.
Last month, CAL and the other two Taiwanese international carriers — EVA Airways and Starlux Airlines — reported significantly improved sales figures, as passenger numbers continued to rise following the easing of COVID-19 border restrictions.
CAL said it posted consolidated sales of NT$12.67 billion last month, a year-on-year increase of 18.64 percent.
Revenue generated by passenger flights last month soared 866.44 percent annually to NT$7.08 billion, while sales generated by cargo totaled NT$4.84 billion, CAL said.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) is to launch a new program to encourage international students to stay in Taiwan and explore job opportunities here after graduation, Deputy Minister of Education Yeh Ping-cheng (葉丙成) said on Friday.
