The announcement marks Lin's second straight year of involvement in NBA All-Star Weekend, following his debut as an honorary head coach for last year's NBA Rising Stars mini-tournament.
Lin joins an 11-man roster that includes former NBA player Tacko Fall, ESPN senior NBA insider Shams Charania and Chinese actor and singer Dylan Wang.
Lin's team would be coached by the Antetokounmpo brothers, including two-time NBA regular-season MVP and NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo, as well as four-time MLB World Series champion Mookie Betts.
Players on the opposing team include NBA legend and champion Jason "White Chocolate" Williams, seven-time Olympic medalist sprinter Andre De Grasse and actor Simu Liu, who stars in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
The official Instagram account of the NBA All-Star also announced Lin's participation in a post, which Lin shared without further comment as of press time.
In late August last year, shortly after turning 37, Lin decided to retire after a 15-year professional career in the US, Canada, China and Taiwan.
