Taiwanese archers yesterday won their first medals at the Asian Archery Championships in Thailand, taking two silvers and a bronze in separate events.
In the final of the compound women’s team event, Taiwan’s Chen Yi-hsuan, Wang Lu-yun and Huang I-jou scored a total of 233 points to finish in second place, one point behind India.
On Wednesday, the Taiwanese team defeated South Korea 232-226 in the semi-finals.

Later yesterday, Huang defeated Kazakhstan’s Viktoriya Lyan 136-135 in the third-place competition in the compound women’s event to win bronze.
In the men’s recurve final, Taiwan’s Tang Chih-chun was defeated 6-2 by Kim Woo-jin of South Korea to take silver.
Tang reached the final by defeating another South Korean, Lee Woo-seok, winning 6-4.
