Taiwanese pool player Chou Chieh-yu on Saturday won the Predator World Women’s 10-Ball Championship title in Austria after a 9-3 final win over compatriot Wei Tzu-chien 9-3.
The victory marks the first time the 35-year-old Chou has won a world championship title.
Chou, who won a silver medal at the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, in July, was one of seven Taiwanese players at the Predator tournament.

Chou beat Hall of Famer Allison Fisher, 54, an English former professional snooker player, 9-6 in the last 16, before overpowering South Korea’s Lim Yun-mi 9-3 in the quarter-finals.
The Taiwanese player then scored a 9-4 victory over English 9-ball world champion Kelly Fisher, 44, in the semi-finals earlier on Saturday.
The 32-year-old Wei reached the final after edging out home-favorite Jasmin Ouschan with a 9-7 win in the tournament’s other last-four matchup.
Chou’s victory over Wei in the final also earned her 30,000 euros (US$30,457) in prize money.
