Officials from an elementary school in Yungho, Taipei County, yesterday came forward to clear up a story that a sixth-grader from the school had recently posted a series of sexy pictures of herself on the Internet.
Several people recently received an e-mail, entitled "Can you believe that she is only a sixth grader?" with an attachment of a series of erotic pictures of a young girl clad only in a bikini. The e-mail says that the girl is a sixth-grader at an elementary school in Yungho; the girl's class and student number are also included in the e-mail.
School officials yesterday said that they first heard about the e-mail two weeks ago. The school administration immediately started an investigation into whether or not the story was true. According to school officials, the student number contained in the e-mail actually belonged to a boy, not a girl.
"Somebody is trying to ruin the school's good reputation with these pictures," a school official was quoted as saying.
School officials yesterday also said that they had reported the case to the Government Ethics Office of the Taipei County Government. According to the ethics office, police will carry out an investigation into the case.
