Huáhua: Wǒ jiā yě shì! Búguò xiànzài hěn duō yíngyǎngshī dōu tíxǐng dàjiā, jìnbǔ bù yídìng yào chī de hěn yóu huò hěn bǔ.
Qīngqing: Zhēn de ma? Wǒ yìzhí yǐwéi Lìdōng jiù shì yào chī jiāngmǔyā, máyóujī, cái suàn bǔ dào shēntǐ.
Huáhua: Qíshí píngcháng chī de jūnhéng gèng zhòngyào, xiàng shì duō chī shūcài, dòulèi hé shìliàng de dànbáizhí, bù yídìng yào chī dàcān.
Qīngqing: Nà wǒ kěyǐ zhǔ yì guō shūcài dòufu tāng, zài jiā diǎn jīròu, zhèyàng yīnggāi yě búcuò ba?
Huáhua: Dāngrán kěyǐ! Shǎo fàng yìdiǎn yán, dāpèi dāngjì shícái, chī de qīngdàn yìdiǎn yě hěn shūfu.

Qīngqing: Kànlái Lìdōng bù zhǐ shì chī bǔpǐn, gèng zhòngyào de shì zhàogù zìjǐ de yǐnshí xíguàn.
Huáhua: Duì a! Yǔqí yì nián zhǐ bǔ zhè yì tiān, bùrú měi tiān hǎohǎo chīfàn, shēntǐ cái zhēn de shòu de liǎo!
Translation
Qingqing: Lidong, marking the beginning of winter, is here, and my mom reminded me to eat more nourishing foods so I won’t get sick easily in the cold weather.
Huahua: Same here. But these days, many dietitians say that nourishing your body doesn’t necessarily mean eating rich or heavy foods.
Qingqing: Really? I always thought celebrating Lidong meant eating ginger duck or sesame oil chicken to give your body a boost.
Huahua: Actually, eating a balanced diet every day is more important. Vegetables, beans and enough protein are all good choices. You don’t need a big feast.
Qingqing: Then maybe I’ll make a pot of vegetable and tofu soup with some chicken. That sounds pretty good, right?
Huahua: Absolutely. Use a little less salt and add some seasonal ingredients. A lighter meal can be just as satisfying.
Qingqing: So Lidong isn’t just about eating special nourishing foods. It’s also a reminder to take care of our everyday eating habits.
Huahua: Exactly. Instead of trying to nourish your body for just one day each year, why not eat well every day? Your body will thank you.

Near the Bay of Naples in Italy, the ancient city of Pompeii stands as a remarkable time capsule. In 79 AD, at the height of the Roman Empire’s prosperity, Mount Vesuvius erupted with overwhelming force. Within hours, the city was buried under meters of ash and pumice. This catastrophe turned out to be an unintentional act of preservation, sealing an entire civilization in place for nearly 2,000 years. Walking through Pompeii, visitors are struck by the sophistication of its urban design and the vivid traces of daily life it preserves. The ash sealed out air and moisture, leaving streets, buildings and
Have you ever struggled with a problem for hours, only to suddenly think of a solution while taking a shower? This common experience is sometimes called the “shower effect.” Researchers have found that people often come up with fresh ideas during simple activities such as showering, taking a walk, or washing dishes. __1__ As a result, the mind is able to wander more freely.
