The century-old legacy of traditional Taiwanese glove puppets has been transformed into modern, fashionable male figurines and gorgeous female figures through the efforts of Samadhi, a group of glove puppet enthusiasts, who passed down the tradition and recreated it, attracting many fans. From August, the Samadhi Innovative Puppet Troupe will take up an invitation to attend and perform at an exposition at Japan’s famous Kawamoto Kihachirou puppet museum. Beforehand, the troupe will exhibit at the New Taipei City Youth Library in Sindian and perform a free show on July 11 in the afternoon to allow fans to feast their eyes on their masterpieces.
The Samadhi Elegance of Genesis special glove puppet expo will be held from May 31 to July 19 at the New Taipei City Youth Library and will feature more than twenty 100cm glove puppet figures, refined styling, flamboyant costume design and various accessories. Not only does it subvert the imagination of the older generation of glove puppets, it has created a whole new generation of followers and fans which originates from the interest and devotion of amateur puppetry lovers.
One of the enthusiasts, Yen Jen-hung, said the members of Samadhi are all loyal puppeteers and have their own jobs, but with their love and passion toward puppetry, they formed the innovative puppet team Samadhi and utilized their creativity with self-made puppets. They arranged everything themselves from puppet design, modeling, sewing puppet clothes, weapon crafting, character rigging, script play, even down to the promotional activities.

「三昧風華．創世紀布袋戲偶特展」即日起至七月十九日在新店青少年圖書館展出，現場擺出廿多尊一百公分高的布袋戲偶，展現精緻的造型和華麗的服裝設計，以及各式配件，不僅顛覆年長一輩對布袋戲偶的想像，更造就一批新世代的追隨者和粉絲，這些都來自喜愛布袋戲業餘人士的興趣與堅持。
其中之一的嚴仁鴻說，「三昧堂」成員都是布袋戲的忠實玩家，平常各自有工作，憑著對布袋戲的喜愛與熱忱，組成三昧堂創意木偶團隊，以自創戲偶玩創意，從戲偶設計、造型、偶衣縫製、兵器製作、角色設定、劇本撰寫到活動宣傳等，全都自行包辦。
