Our hero is Spencer Olham, a scientist whose work promises to bring a new hope to an earth locked in a decade-long battle with aliens since the year 2069. The sky over all remaining cities has been replaced by an electromagnetic dome and everyone has been fitted with identity tags in their spines. Olham is pegged as an alien probe. Not a man, but an impostor programmed to detonate upon meeting the head of earth's government. He escapes the long arm of the law and goes on the run, sustained by the love he has for his wife and his desire to prove his innocence -- that is, if he is innocent. Based on a story by Philip K. Dick, Gary Fleder's vision of the future isn't simply dark, it's poorly lit as well.
