Kaohsiung Police Bureau yesterday unveiled a traffic control plan for president-elect Ma Ying-jeou's (馬英九) state banquet, tea reception and the inauguration fireworks on Tuesday.

There will be traffic control between 3pm and 11pm surrounding the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit System’s Central Park Station and Kaohsiung’s Grand Hi-lai Hotel, where the state banquet will be held.

The restricted area may be expanded to north of Cingnian Road, south of Wufu Road, west of Zihciang Road and east of Chenggong Road.

No parking will be allowed in the underground parking lot of the hotel after 3pm.

Traffic control will be imposed between Minsheng 2nd Road, Guomin Street and Hedong Road between 7pm and 11pm because of the tea reception at the Ambassador Hotel.

The one-hour inauguration fireworks display by the sea will begin at 9pm between the True Love Pier and the Honorary Pier.

Traffic restrictions will be imposed between Gongyuan 2nd Road and Dayi Street between 7pm and 11pm, while no vehicles will be allowed to enter the True Love Pier after 12pm.

The public can watch the fireworks display at the Honorary Pier.
