Lopez allegedly drove off in his van after the failed attempt. The clerk then called the police and gave a description of a white van with a license plate covered with sanitary napkins.
During an ensuing police chase, Lopez reportedly panicked and rammed his van into a building as he tried to drive down a small alley.
The front of the car was completely demolished and Lopez was arrested on the spot after he got stuck inside the van. Lopez sustained a leg fracture from the crash. He is reportedly in good condition after minor surgery.
