A delegation of representatives of 38 Taiwanese companies and 12 agricultural associations is taking part in the 12th Asian International Exhibition of Food and Drink that opened yesterday in Hong Kong, delegation leader Lin Chen-hsuan (ªL®¶«Å) said yesterday.

Lin, honorary chairman of the Taiwan Rice and Cereals Industrial Association, said the delegation had set up a total of 50 booths at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center to exhibit Taiwanese agricultural products, including fruits, rice, tea, wine, frozen food, eggs, candies and cookies.

Lin said that Hong Kong was the second-largest market for Taiwanese agricultural exports and an important channel for exporting produce to China.

Taiwan exported US$490 million worth of farm produce to Hong Kong last year, he said.

The trade show runs through tomorrow.
