Taiwan Quick Take: Taichung wants Japan flights

The Taichung County Council said last week that it would promote the opening of direct flight services between Taichung's Chingchuankang Airport and Komatsu Airport in Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture. The council said the proposal was discussed during a recent visit to Japan by a delegation of the county's councilors and business leaders. The delegation was led by Taichung County Councilor Chiang Sheng-hsiung (江勝雄). Chiang said that both Komatsu and Chingchuankang airports have a number of shared characteristics and that the opening of direct flight services between the two airports will contribute to the development of tourism and the economy in both places.
