Taiwan Quick Take: Changhua offers tours

    Thursday, Jun 08, 2006, Page 3

Four cultural tours have been organized in Changhua County by the county's cultural bureau to boost tourism in the area. Chen Yi-ling (陳逸玲), a cultural official in charge of promoting tourism, said yesterday that the four routes would allow tourists to experience the county's diversified culture and unique beauty. The first route, with flora as the theme, winds through the three rural townships of Hsichou (溪州), Tienwei (田尾) and Pitou (埤頭), all of which are known for flower farming. The second route features natural beauty, and takes visitors to the Pakuashan ecosystem farm to enjoy tranquil scenes and learn about various insects living on the farm. The third route will cover the Chinshuiyan Temple and the Paofeng Goat Ranch in Shetou (社頭), while the fourth route includes the Tienhou Temple and ancient Wenkai Academy, both in the town of Lukang (鹿港). The Cultural Bureau will provide a free tour guide to 10 tour groups of 40 visitors each on the four routes, beginning this month.
