MLB: Rangers and A’s both win to continue AL West duel

New York’s Shaun Marcum pitched eight crisp innings for his first win of the season, helping the Mets to a 3-0 triumph over the Chicago White Sox.

Miami’s Placido Polanco homered for the first time in more than a year and Jeff Mathis hit his first this season, as the Marlins overcame a three-run deficit to beat Minnesota 5-3.
