AP, UNIONDALE, New York

The Pittsburgh Penguins rallied for a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Friday to extend their winning streak to 11 games.

Tomas Vokoun made 33 saves, while Brandon Sutter broke a deadlock early in the third period for the win. Joe Vitale and Chris Kunitz had second-period goals for Pittsburgh, which erased a pair of one-goal deficits after a sluggish first period. Pascal Dupuis added an empty-net goal with less than a second remaining, with an assist from Vokoun.

Mark Streit put the Islanders ahead in the first, and Josh Bailey answered Vitale’s goal to make it 2-1 in the second.

Detroit’s Justin Abdelkader scored his first NHL hat-trick and Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and two assists as the Red Wings ended Anaheim’s club-record 13-game home winning streak with a 5-1 win.

Jimmy Howard allowed fewer than three goals for the eighth time in his past nine starts and had 33 saves.

Teemu Selanne scored for the Ducks.

In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Alex Ovechkin scored two goals and Braden Holtby made 30 saves as the Washington Capitals downed the Jets 6-1.

Brooks Laich, Troy Brouwer, Jay Beagle and Mike Green also scored for the Capitals, while Mike Ribeiro had two assists as Washington picked up a much-needed four points in two nights thanks to the Jets.

Dustin Byfuglien scored Winnipeg’s goal in the third.

Nick Foligno scored twice at Columbus in a club-record 51 seconds as the Blue Jackets scored three goals in a 1 minute, 15 second span of the second period to beat the Calgary Flames 5-1.

Artem Anisimov, Colton Gillies and Jared Boll also had goals and Sergei Bobrovsky continued his strong play with 24 saves for the Blue Jackets.

The two goals by Foligno and one by Anisimov in 75 seconds also were the fastest three goals by the Blue Jackets.
