Buddy the ‘beautiful bulldog’ is great at sleeping and snoring 最靚牛頭犬巴迪 最擅睡覺和打呼

Buddy is a sleeping beauty. He’s usually asleep on his back, snoring loudly with his large tongue hanging out.

He was wide awake last week, though, when he won a “Beautiful Bulldog” contest.

“He’s been lying around all winter,’’ said George DuBois from Ankeny, Iowa, US, who owns Buddy with his wife, Cindy. “In the last 10, 15 days we’ve done some walking. We’ve been getting in shape for this.”

The DuBois’ three-year-old dog was among 50 bulldogs who came to compete.

“I’m so excited. I didn’t think he had what it took to get it,” Cindy DuBois said.

Buddy didn’t wear a costume when he walked down the “dogwalk,” unlike many of the other dogs. They dressed up as fairy princesses, rock stars and even cheerleaders.

Buddy panted heavily as he sat on his throne. He was wearing a crown and a cape.

His owner doesn’t think winning the contest will go to Buddy’s head.

“I don’t think he really wants attention all that much,” George DuBois said.

巴迪的飼主喬治．杜伯伊和他的太太辛蒂來自美國愛荷華州安克尼市，杜伯伊說：「牠整個冬天都躺著不肯起來；過去十到十五天，我們做了一些走路訓練，為了參賽健身一番。」

杜伯伊養的這隻三歲的牛頭犬，從五十隻參賽者中脫穎而出。

辛蒂．杜伯伊說：「我非常興奮，我原以為以牠的條件不會獲勝。」

巴迪沒有特別打扮就走上伸展台，不像其他許多參賽者那樣打扮成童話故事中的公主、搖滾明星，甚至啦啦隊員。

牠的飼主說，巴迪應該不會因為獲獎而得意忘形。

喬治．杜伯伊說：「我不認為牠想吸引那麼多眼光。」
