Gold-detailed, lighted-up, pizza-faced — there are many kinds of wristwatches for sale.
Big watches are hot this year. Some measure up to 5.5cm in diameter. They look like large pizzas!
Watches with gold are also very popular this season. Some have diamonds or other jewels. Shopkeepers are happy that people are buying luxury watches. Some cost as much as a new car.
But many people just want a simple-looking watch. One example is an all-black watch with lighted hands. It catches the eye even though it has few details.
People pay attention to the kind of watch a person wears. For example, a year ago it was big news that James Bond wore an Omega watch in Casino Royale. In the books, he was a Rolex man.
Times change, but the popularity of watches keeps on ticking.
