A giant snake tried to strangle a woman's pet dog to death, but the woman battled the snake and saved her dog.
Catherine Leonard was walking in a country park in Hong Kong when the 4.5m long Burmese python attacked her beloved Poppy.
Leonard grabbed the huge snake as one of her other dogs barked furiously.

"I kicked it and I tried to pull Poppy free. The snake was twisted around her," she said. "Somehow Poppy managed to get away."
The attack on four-year-old Poppy took place in Sai Kung country park. Nearby a 22kg husky dog was crushed to death by a snake last year. Also, a python caught and ate a calf in the park last month.
"Catherine was very courageous," professional snake catcher Dave Willott said. "The snake probably thought, 'I've had enough of this.'"
Burmese pythons are one of the world's largest snakes. They can grow to 6m long and weigh over 100kg.

Mullet roe is a highly-priced delicacy typically served during special occasions like wedding banquets or Chinese New Year’s dinners, where families come together in celebration. The mullet roe can be prepared in various ways. It is usually pan-fried but can also be roasted or torched. To cook a pan-fried mullet roe, soak it in liquor or wine and peel off its membrane. Then, it is browned over a low fire and turned several times. Finally, the fried mullet roe is cut diagonally and is ready to be served. This dish is usually served with garlic scapes and daikon slices, but
