Marylou Morin isn't your average pet owner. She has a dog and three rats.
Morin, known as the “rat lady,” has babied rats for about eight years, ever since her daughter brought home a rat named Wicket. The white male rat with pink eyes would fall asleep in her lap while she watched television.
Marylou and her husband, Don, once had 13 rats in their home. Morin lets them crawl all over her or sit on her shoulder.
Her three rats, Cubby, Sweet Pea and Little Bit, help her after a long day of work.
“They help me relax a whole bunch. ... They're just very loving,” she said.
Morin said they clean themselves frequently and even groom each other.
Her 12kg miniature schnauzer, BobbiAnne, herds the three rats like sheep.
“She lets them chew on her beard, and sometimes they'll lie on her back,” Morin said.

她說︰「牠們幫我大大地放鬆…牠們就是非常討人喜歡。」
莫琳說牠們經常自我清潔，甚至會幫彼此整理。
她十二公斤的迷你雪納瑞「芭比安妮」，常把這三隻老鼠當羊群趕。
莫琳表示︰「她會讓牠們咬她的鬍鬚，有時牠們會躺在她的背上。」
