    A winter job

In Taiwan, sometimes we have bad weather that keeps us from going outside. Typhoons sometimes bring so much wind and rain that it would be dangerous to drive around.

This man has a different problem. Even though it isn't snowing right now, he still can't leave his house because his driveway is covered in snow.

He has to use a snow blower to clean his whole driveway before he can use his car. A snow blower is exactly what it sounds like -- a machine that blows away snow.

But as you can see, just because using a snow blower gets rid of the snow on your driveway, it doesn't mean you won't still get it all over yourself!
    Do you know?
    SALTY SOLUTION
There are many ways people deal with making the roads safe to drive on after snow falls. In most cities, trucks come along and spread salt over the roads after a big snowfall. This helps melt the snow, and ice and it also helps the tires of cars hold onto the road.

I forgot to bring my house key with me, so I had to wait in the driveway until my parents got home.
    我忘了帶家裡鑰匙,所以只好在門前車道上等父母回家。
