Senior officials from China, Japan and South Korea are to hold talks in Seoul today on a new round of international negotiations on the North Korean nuclear crisis, a report said.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency said Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Soo-hyuck would meet China's Fu Ying and Mitoji Yabunaka of Japan on the sidelines of a meeting to discuss tripartite cooperation.
Earlier on Saturday, China's vice foreign minister Wang Yi announced that North Korea has agreed to take part in a new round of six-party talks on its nuclear program early in the new year.
Wang visited Pyongyang for a two-day visit Dec. 25, as China continued to try and broker a compromise solution between North Korea, its neighbors and the US.
