If you have extra winter clothes or just want to help the needy survive the cold season, bring them over to Louisa Coffee near Daan MRT Station tomorrow afternoon. Mexican national Aranza Duarte says she decided to organize a clothing drive after still feeling cold while wearing two jackets and a scarf.

“If I was feeling like this, how could homeless people near Taipei Main Station or outside Longshan Temple get through this winter?” she says.

Duarte reached out to the Taipei City Government, who directed her to the Wanhua Social Welfare Center (萬華社會福利服務中心) with a list of clothing items that were needed: dark casual pants, cotton trousers, large or extra-large dark jackets or coats, black socks, blankets, scarves, gloves and any other appropriate winter gear. They particularly need men’s clothing.

The clothes will be donated to the Wanhua Social Welfare center on Christmas morning.

■ Items will be collected between 1pm and 4pm at Louisa Coffee, 28, Xinyi Rd Sec 4, Taipei City (台北市信義路四段28號). Those who can’t make it but want to help can visit the following event page for contact information:
