Bored of clubs? Tired of bars? Perhaps it’s time to break out the glow sticks and head out into nature. Led by veteran DJ/producer Kerlivin (Liu Lung-chiang, 劉龍江) and a group of like-minded psytrance fanatics, party outfit 26D Production has been throwing outdoor raves in northern Taiwan for more than a decade. They specialize in hard-to-find parties located off the beaten track. Getting there is part of the adventure. “It feels like taking people on a journey every time we throw a party,” says promoter Koala (Wu Yung-hsiang, 吳永祥).

The next party is on April 16 at a remote mountain area in Fusing Township (復興) in Taoyuan County at a site the group has used before. “The place is really amazing. You can see stars all over the sky and because of the complete darkness, it makes our installation art look stunning,” Wu said.

■ Rabbit Hole is on April 16 from 6pm to 11am at 1-4, Siayun 1st Village, Fusing Township, Taoyuan County (桃園縣復興鄉霞雲1鄰1-4號). The lineup includes Lazydaze, Merv, Theendtone, FroGorilla Leo and Malfunktioning

■ Advance tickets are NT$500 until March 31, and NT$600 from April 1 to April 11. Otherwise, admission is NT$800. To purchase tickets, call 0955-557-515 or follow the instructions in Chinese and English on the event’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=112337522176198.

If underground hip-hop is more of your cup of tea, then check out the popular monthly Good Listening Planet (好好聽星球) party that started in October.

The event began life as a blog. On her online journal, Hana Lin (林亞葇) writes about her favorite music: Japanese underground hip-hop and indie music. “Through the blog I got to meet lots of people who are into the same kind of music as me,” she said.

After experiencing the homely and friendly vibes at underground parties in Tokyo, she returned to Taiwan determined to start her event.

Her project went off right away. The average turnout is around 250 people, Lin said.

While the next Good Listening Planet is on March 25 at Revolver, it’s the one on April 29 at The Wall with Japanese underground hip-hop heavyweights Shing02 and DJ A-1 that’s attracting attention. For details and ticketing information, visit glp501.blogspot.com.

As for this weekend, MC Stoppa and DJs @L, nosaj, am Stereo, Gill. T. Azell and c-type are taking over Revolver tomorrow for an evening of drum ’n’ bass, dubstep, electro and glitch-hop.

■ Tomorrow from 11pm to 5am at Revolver, located at 1-2, Roosevelt Rd Sec 1, Taipei City (台北市羅斯福路一段1-2號), near Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall MRT Station (中正紀念堂捷運站) Exit 4. Call (02) 3393-1678 for details

■ Admission is NT$250
