Its strikes me as odd that Chunghua Telecom has 26,000 employees, and yet lack a single person capable of managing the English version of their Hinet ISP Web site.
If you take a look at their English homepage, the first thing you will notice -- beside all the misspellings, poor grammar and goofy graphics -- is a large advertisement for a connection deal that expired in 2004.
I sent them a couple of e-mails about this months ago, but the ad is still posted to this day.
It's not only the poor quality design, but the lack of important content that makes this Web site and their corporate home site so useless.
Taiwan strives to be a world class, international high-tech hub, yet the No. 1 ISP portal here looks like a banana republic telecom.
Of all companies, they should be the first to realize how important the Web is to online marketing and image building.
It doesn't take a lot of time, money or resources to give it the professional image it deserves. I have even offered to help, but none of my e-mails has ever been acknowledged, let alone replied to.
Add this to the fact that we have to sign a ridiculous two-year contract for basic ADSL service plus have a co-signer to even get the service.
