Delta Electronics Inc (台達電), the world’s top manufacturer of switching power supplies, yesterday launched a new corporate office in India to beef up its presence in the fast-growing emerging market.
Subsidiary Delta India Electronics Pvt Ltd opened a new office in Gurgaon, India, which doubles as a manufacturing unit for Delta’s display solutions.
“This new green corporate office in India demonstrates the significant growth of Delta India Electronics,” Bruce Cheng (鄭崇華), Delta’s founder and chairman, said in a statement.
Delta started investing in India in 2003 and currently has three manufacturing units in Rudrapur, Gurgaon and Pondicherry, as well as two research and development centers in Gurgaon and Bangalore.
The company supplies the domestic market with solutions such as telecoms power systems, uninterruptible power systems, displays and -industrial automation.
In addition to Taiwan and India, Delta has manufacturing facilities in China, Thailand, Japan, Mexico, Brazil and Europe.
Separately, Delta yesterday reported consolidated revenues of NT$14.3 billion (US$500 million) last month, down 7 percent month-on-month, but up 2 percent year-on-year.
Cumulative consolidated revenue for the first four months of the year advanced 15 percent from last year to NT$54.5 billion.
