State-run CPC Corp, Taiwan (CPC, 台灣中油) announced yesterday it was reducing its wholesale diesel prices by NT$0.10 per liter, while keeping wholesale gasoline prices unchanged.

Adjusted prices for premium diesel would be NT$24.60 per liter and regular diesel would be NT$24.10 per liter, the company said.

Household liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) would increase by NT$2 per kilogram and industrial-used LPG by NT$2.2 per kilogram, CPC said. The new rates are effective today.

Smaller rival Formosa Petrochemical Corp (台塑石化), for its part, said it would drop its wholesale diesel prices to match CPC's, effective 2am today. Prices of gasoline and LPG remain unchanged, Formosa said

CPC's price adjustment was made in accordance with price fluctuations of West Texas Intermediate crude oil, which declined 0.29 percent over the past week in New York.
